India passed a bill Wednesday that will enable the establishment of an independent agency to investigate corruption among government officials. Many Indians hope the first-of-its-kind agency will bring much needed change to the graft embattled country.
The bill — known as the Lokpal Bill after the Hindi word for ombudsman — is the culmination of the long struggle of veteran anti-graft activist Anna Hazare, who led a mass movement in 2011 that forced the government to introduce the bill in parliament.
“People are lining up to take credit, but there is an old man who keeps fasting for the bill and appeals to our collective conscience,” opposition Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Sushma Swaraj said, acknowledging Hazare’s role.
Hazare said there was no room for complacency. “People have to be vigilant. Only then will they benefit from this law,” he told reporters after the bill was passed. He called for “committees…

Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention
Imagine, in great detail, an invention that could help reverse pollution — describe for us how your invention works and how it will help save the planet.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us INVENTIVE.
As suggested by wordpress’ Daily Prompt.
So, what invention could help prevent pollution?
You must be aware that pollution has a wide coverage, ranging from physical through emotional to moral and almost a limitless variety of fields.
To pollute means; to make dirty.
This could also mean; to add impurities or an impurity.
Certain forms of pollution would affect comfort, health, aesthetics, functionality, etc. Depending on what the case is.
When a mind is polluted, misconduct becomes evident.
When a meal is polluted, it becomes potentially harmful to the body.
When a system is polluted, it stands the chance of a mal-function.
What invention can take care of pollution?

Here’s a beautiful post by a young woman, chosen for Freshly Pressed, about how she’s spending the holidays, without the traditional closeness of family:
We were browsing the greeting card aisle at Target the other day, looking for something to send my parents for Thanksgiving. The more I skimmed the contents of each card, the more discouraged I became.
Because it hurts to know millions of people all over the country will be sending cards that say things like, “Holidays are a time to appreciate loved ones…” or even better, “I’m so thankful to be spending this day with you…”
But I didn’t pick a card like that. I was relegated to a small selection of cards that read more along the lines of “Hope your holiday is __________.” Fill in the blank with words like blessed, enjoyable, and joyful. These are the neutral cards meant for…

At the outset you can pin these down to some definitive qualities such as courage to decide, will power to persist, initiative to be a self starter, knowledge of self, ability to deal with people, and knowledge of the job to reach selflessness based on an ideal or vision.
All these are well taken and must exist in varying proportions in a leader. This discourse is set to comprehend the universal inner structure of a leader as out lined in Bhagwad Geeta.
The key is the characteristic inner structure of a leader that should harmonise his thoughts, words and deeds. A leader who can achieve this ubiquitous synergy in this universal inner structure rises above the mill of the run leaders. He can operate from a level of self confidence borne out of his character to achieve the impossible. He can dispassionately and objectively observe the world around him in a holistic manner and initiate his thoughts to spur significant changes in the organisation.
Such leaders are above petty politicking at the work place and can operate under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty to evolve cogent answers to complex work problems. Once this universal structure is in place, rest becomes a natural function of this trait. Such leaders develop the courage to walk the edge, have strong will power, can deal effectively with people and develop ideal visions for their organisations and the people.
Somehow in our quest for money, name or fame we disturb the fine balance required to develop this inner quality. That is when the doom begins and despite good short term results we sacrifice the long term sustainable leadership position
This is a portrait of reflections of potential that good leaders are required to identify in the team. Once identified half the battle is won. There after it is just a matter of constructing the inner character and invoking a persons calling to enable him or her to blossom.
Often we fail to see this potential.
In an earlier post on Swarming – Imperatives for the Business World we had covered various facets of how swarming can be applied to businesses. We got some pertinent queries during our in house webinar. Some issues are explained for better application of the concept.
The bees appear to be moving around the flowers in a distributed manner each with a sense of purpose to gather the nectar. Once done they dutifully reach their hives through a maze of complex routes and serve their offerings to the queen bee and return to perform the same task with the same energy. Ants do a similar routine. No one tells the bees or ants the “how” of collecting their goodies and bringing it back for meeting with the fraternity’s larger needs. Science calls this innate behaviour. A sense developed overtime which then gets genetically coded.
In businesses, most of the leaders spend all their energies in explaining to the teams the “how” of the task in hand and not the “why” . These organisations thus operate in a vacuum questioning “What does the boss want”?. Unlike the queen bee which appears to be having a whale of a time watching the bees at work, these leaders never explain the intent with a clarity. It is the Intent which unleashes the creativity of the team to perform the task in a cross functional and multi dynamic way.
THAT is the difference between innate behaviors and structured patterned beliefs. The leaders who spend adequate time, energy and effort in crystallizing the intent, the way queen bee does, and have the ability to convey this to the team unambiguously create innate look alike teams full of enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. They explore their creativity to charter their paths to blue oceans and find simple but enduring answers to complex problems at hand. They work within the intent of the leader and empower themselves with in the directive style of leadership. The paradigms now change. Each member becomes a power house exploring and experimenting through unchartered territories to evolve out of the box solutions.
Swarms thus are possible only when the Intent is unambiguous and the leadership module is willing to trust his team.
